How to administer

  1. 1Student lies on their back with knees bent ~90°, feet flat, arms crossed over chest.
  2. 2A partner anchors the feet (or use a foot board).
  3. 3On 'Go', the student curls up until elbows touch the thighs, then returns until the upper back touches the floor. That's one rep.
  4. 4Count complete reps for 60 seconds.

Equipment

  • Mat
  • Stopwatch (or app timer)
  • Optional: foot anchor or partner

Common mistakes to watch for

  • Hands behind the head with elbows pulling — only chest-cross arms count.
  • Lifting the lower back off the floor on the descent (the upper back must touch).
  • Bouncing reps using momentum.
